A Winter Lush Cosmetics Haul

Sunday, January 11, 2015

I have a confession to make, I've played away from home. My dear Lush Aberdeen I strayed into Lush Edinburgh and betrayed your trust. I am forever sorry. Although, not really as I picked up some snazzy little buys in the form of a couple new bath bombs and a long lusted after lip scrub! I was also lucky enough to receive a Lush giftbox for Christmas so I've included what's left of that in this post too. You can never have too much Lush!
A little birdie had told my boyfriend's Mum that I love Lush and I could not have been more excited when I opened the Happy Daze box at Christmas time! The box of goodies still makes my room smell beaut! I was greeted with a onslaught of bright colours as the box is very 70s inspired! It had four items in it: The first was the 'Brightside Mini' which is a bubble bar with an orange citrus scent. I tried this bubble bar first which is why you can't see it in photos but I absolutely loved the smell!

The big colourful swirly circular one is the 'Granny Takes A Dip' bomb with lemon, ginger and black pepper essential oils. I can't wait to try this one as I imagine it will turn my bath multi-coloured! Next up we have 'The Comforter Mini' which is a blackcurrant scented bubble bar. I had such high hopes for this bubble bar as I've heard so much about it but I just find the smell so so over powering. I'm hoping it is perhaps diluted in the bath but at the moment all I can smell is super strong Ribena! Finally in the box was the HUGE 'Fizzbanger' bath bomb which has a toffee apple fragrance. I can't wait to try this one (its my favourite scent in the box) and I can't wait to see the effect of the popping candy!
I bought my boyfriend the 'Kalamazoo' beard and facial cleanser back in October and since then he's bashfully been nagging me to chum him into Lush to stock up on some more of their uni-sex products. So on Tuesday night we headed into Lush Edinburgh and he picked up some skincare bits while I couldn't help adding to my Lush basket collection. (I have all my bombs and soaps in a lovely wee metal trough and I like to pick one each time I have a bath - gotta keep it topped up!) I'm quite into simple scents so my all time favourite is the 'Butterball'. It makes my skin so soft and smells nice without being too overpowering. Although for those of you looking for the wow factor, 'Butterball' will definitely be too tame. So I purchased one more of my go to basic bath bomb. I also bought the 'Big Blue' after seeing it recommended on a couple of blogs! It is described as calming and refreshing and has a really fresh sea breeze scent. I can't wait to try it one evening.
I also have been tempted by the lip scrubs for ages now since I saw them at the Lush Aberdeen bloggers event but couldn't work out which flavour/scent to go for. Now I wish I went for the Christmas edition lip scrub but I went to buy it after they'd been discontinued in shops booo. So I went for the 'Popcorn' lip scrub which smells delicious! I've had such unattractive chapped lips over the festive period so it was definitely needed. I still haven't quite worked out the best way to use it as I'm not sure if you wipe it off afterwards but it still seems to be working well so far. If you guys have any tips for me on how to use it I'd love to know!

I also just noticed that the Lush Valentines collection has come out after seeing it on my favourite Lushie's blog - I definitely didn't go for a shop at the right time! What a shame, I'll just have to visit again. And don't fret Lush Aberdeen, the original is always the goodie and I'll be back in Aberdeen this weekend to raid your shelves. I'm such a cosmetic hussy.
