Christmas shopping, new shoes and delicious home-cooked grub!

I edited this photo I found on facebook! Sorry I couldn't find it's original owner.

Hello December! As is this is my first year as a blogger I couldn't miss out on doing Vlogmas. Unfortunately however, I have my final fourth year exams... not a good mix I tell you. So what I thought I'd do is do my version of Blogmas. I will try and post as often as I can but I can't commit to the everyday posts (darn exams!). So I'm hoping there will be about three posts a week, fingers crossed!

So today on the 1st December, I thought I'd post my usual weekly catch-up as it is really rather Christmassy...
At the beginning of the week I received my first Christmas card of the year from my lovely friend Shannon. Quite the early bird huh? I absolutely love getting letters through the post so I was so excited to get this the other day! I've also bought some lovely charity Christmas cards to send myself this year so I better get on that toot sweet.

This week I also did my first bit of Christmas shopping! My sister and I went wandering around the shops of Aberdeen and managed to pick up a few bits for our family. I got these beautifully coloured notelets from Paperchase which I think will be great for both my grannies. We also popped into a lovely shop called Annie Mo's where we got these lovely heart Christmas deccies which will be perfect for our Aunt and my lovely boss. I also bought my boss this candle from TK Maxx which literally smells AMAZING. Its meant to be really environmental too! For our little cousin we picked up some cute stickers and pens in Paperchase - who doesn't like getting stationary?! We also bought her a make-your-own gingerbread house which I'm looking forward to tackling with her when she comes up over the holidays. Finally, I bought some pipecleaners, pom poms and google eyes... I bet you're wondering why! I saw this great DIY gift on  Ellen's blog to transform a 6 pack of beer into Reinbeers! Dads are notoriously hard to buy for so can't wait to make this for him! I still have quite a bit more shopping to do but I'm glad to have got started!

I also wrapped my first present too - I absolutely adore wrapping things up really pretty. I bought this lovely wrapping paper from Lidl's which was a bargain at 99p and then I got a 6 pack of lovely ribbon like this from Tiger for around £4. There's some great deals out there just now! Last year I bought the most lovely paper from Poundland!

While we were shopping, my sister and I also bought some new winter boots from Clarks. Since a couple of years ago I wouldn't go anywhere else for good quality boots. I wear mine constantly and they last so well! They are obviously that little bit more expensive, but really they are totally worth it! I'll try and include them in an outfit post soon!

Finally, I was lucky enough to have dinner cooked for me this week. With all the studying we are doing, it is hard to organise to see Jonty so we have dinner dates after a long day at the library! Our favourite foods are basically anything Asian, so on Saturday he cooked me up this feast! It was a spicy soy and sesame beef dish, stirfry vegetables and coconut rice. The coconut rice is to die for. I'm making myself hungry just staring at the photo!

So that was my week! Can't wait to post some more Christmassy posts, I have a wishlist coming up this Wednesday!!

I'd love to know how your weeks have been and if you are planning on doing Blogmas? How do you manage to fit daily posting around your other commitments?

Lots of Christmas love!
